During World War I, trucks were used for many purposes including hauling artillery shells, transporting soldiers, and transporting food to the front lines. The use of trucks during World War II was even more extensive with over 500,000 trucks being used by the military during the conflict.

Post-War America to Late 20th Century

Post-war America saw many innovations in truck design such as cab-over-engine designs as well as more power-efficient engines which allowed for better fuel economy.
